Morro De São Paulo - This car-free island is perfect for those who are in search of a peaceful atmosphere. The crystal-clear waters and soft white sand on this island are some of the reasons why Morro de São Paulo is known having some of the most beautiful beaches in Brazil.
What to Eat: Baiano cuisine is one of the most unique in Brazil - it blends traditional flavours from Africa, Portugal and Indigenous Brazil. As well as the large use of seafood in their cooking, a lot of Bahian food also consists of a Dende oil (palm oil in English).
Moqueca de Peixe (Fish) / Moqueca de Camarão (Shrimp): A rich coconut-based stew served with rice, black-eyed beans and farofa. Try it at Restaurante Dona Suzana in Salvador.
Acarajé: An iconic street food snack which consists of a deep-fried bean cake that is stuffed with vatapá (a creamy paste made from peanuts, and spices), shrimp, and salad - this is a must try! Find this at Acarajé da Cida in Salvador.
Açai Rice: Açai is known around the world as a delicious breakfast food or snack - the berry, which is native to the Amazon Rainforest in northern Brazil, is also often eaten unsweetened, and served with savoury dishes like fish and rice.
